I often struggle with switching my favourite make-up products to more natural versions. The natural make-up world still has a lot of catching up to do in terms of coverage and durability. As a make-up addict, I’ve spent a lot of time seeking out the best brands and products to make the transition that bit easier for the rest of you. Today, I’m looking at natural eyeshadows and sharing which are in my top 5.

5. Dr. Haushka Eyeshadow Duo – The first thing to note is that this product tricky to apply. I was disappointed with the cheap applicator provided and didn’t get a very good result with it, it was almost impossible to blend and I looked a little like a toddler in her mother’s make-up box. So, I switched to an eyeshadow brush and blending sponge. The brush doesn’t pick up as much product as the applicator that comes with the eyeshadow so I found it was a trade-off between high pigmentation and looking sane. Once I was able to work the product properly I could better see that the colours are lovely on and a nice matte effect which gives a nice, vibrant look. Though it is easily overworked, with a gentle hand and the right tools you can get a really dressy and youthful look with this product.

4. Lily Lolo Pressed Eyeshadow – I adored the packaging on these; very high end looking with a classic touch. The product itself is of a very good quality, though the pigmentation is quite low in the lighter products. I found this is easily overworked and blends so well that it can disappear into almost nothing – so it is best used for a nice subtle look day to day. I particularly like the Ivory Tower shade as a highlighter for the centre of the eyelid and corner of the eyes. It has a rich shimmer which makes the eyes really pop. At £7.99 each, you’re buying a top notch product that will really last.

3. Alva Cosmetics Green Equinox – Despite the name, this multipurpose mineral makeup comes in a really broad variety of colours. Great pigmentation, easy to work with and blends well too. It gives such a deep colour that it is best applied gradually. The product comes with a nice shimmer and can also be used with clear lip gloss for lips or with clear nail varnish for nails! And for just £7.50 each, they’re an absolute steal!

2. Neals Yard Remedies Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow – I’m always impressed with Neals Yard products and they regularly come top of my list of favourites. Their eyeshadows are no exception. Beautiful pigmentation, just the right amount of shimmer and blends like a dream. Minimal dropping, too, which is always a bonus. The range of colours are quite limited but if you’re looking for a classic look, then you need look no further than NYR. £12.50 is also very reasonable for a product that is likely to last a very long time.

1. Inika Mineral Eyeshadow – This little treasure came to me in one of my beautybox subscriptions (stay tuned for more on those!) which saved me a cool £14.50. But, I will absolutely be back for more. I was blown away from the moment I applied the product. I have used the shade Gunmetal and it was like a tiny smouldering sparking fireball was occurring as I blended it into my lids. The inside was a deep, high pigmentation and the outsides a lighter shimmery colour with a multicoloured sparkle throughout. It was quite the experience! A Katniss Everdeen moment, even. It dropped quite a lot, but I was too excited to care. It blends beautifully and is a dream to work with. If I could get away with such a dramatic look every day, I’d wear this forever. Instead, I’m just going to have to explore the rest of the colour range… poor me.
