We purchased our first bell tent nearly seven years ago and it's still going strong. It's had so many uses over the years and we just couldn't be without it.

I love our bell tent that we purchased from belltent.co.uk in 2009 (pictured). It’s accompanied us to festivals, been used as a natural healing space, a gathering space for friends, an activity tent for colouring and painting and even teenage sleepover parties! It’s kept us warm and dry through many nights of incessant rain and storms. Best of all, it is incredibly easy and quick to put up. If you’re planning on taking one to a festival or a campsite without car access, bear in mind that it is heavier than a nylon tent; equip yourself with a trailer or a wheelbarrow though and you’ll be laughing.

The great thing about belltent.co.uk is that you can customise your tent and make it a home from home wherever you are; we have a stove in ours which turns the tent into a cosy nest with a tea light chandelier to create a natural magical light at night. Melissa Corkhill editor of The Green Parent sums up the experience, “The first rays of dappled sunlight shining through the circular canvas roof is a moment of sheer joy that is not often witnessed within the four walls of a house.”
