As you stand on February’s threshold some of you will be celebrating the festival of Imbolc and honouring St Bridget, marking the halfway point to the spring equinox, and watching for the first snowdrops of the year.
The full moon above us this week will be perfect for this as the word Imbolc means ‘in the belly of the mother’ because that is where seeds are beginning to stir. The mother archetypal energy of this phase makes it easy to communicate with others, you feel more social, and your compassion urges you to help them in any way you can.
Use that social internal warmth to help you through the cold and dark this week and share a little of it with those around you who you see struggling too. Go out for a hot chocolate or invite people to gather with you for a meal. The full moon loves community, she wants to share her light equally with everyone, you can do the same.
Journal
What seeds in a metaphorical or literal sense can you plant this week? Some wishes and dreams need their time hidden in the dark, safe from the prying eyes of others, before they can begin to grow. What do you have hidden that you could start to grow this coming spring?
