The aim of the festival is to get children (and adults) from Bristol, out into the countryside learning about how and where our food should come from, how to grow and cook their own food and generally try to spark an interest in the topic through various mediums including hands on experience, tasting, art, movement and storytelling. Teachers from local schools will be invited along with local families, Countryside education agencies, chefs, farmers will all be brought together to learn what resources are available to us and how we can work together to best use and preserve our wonderful countryside. Food really is so important in our daily lives and we have some how lost sight of the connection between our food and where it comes from. The aim of Love Food is to build and to encourage this link in every way possible for customers to learn from suppliers and for suppliers to learn from customers.

Local award winning chef ‘Jo Ingleby’ will be running some delicious workshops; expect pumpkin ravioli, butter making and apple crumble workshops for budding young chefs and their families.

Nutritionist ‘Gay Darke’ will be sharing some top tips on how to stay well during the colder months. Local author ‘Lia Liandertz’ will be bringing her new Almanac to life through the subject of autumn, Resident cider lord ‘Dick Willows’ will be talking apples and cider with a tasting or two, and ‘Liz Knight’ from ‘Forage’ will be talking about the magic of wild food.

But it won’t just be delicious food on offer. Love Food Festival has teamed up with ‘Made In Bristol’ to provide a selection of seasonal, handmade arts and crafts all created in the city.

The wonderful ‘Oodle Doodle’ will be back too and will be hosting some superb autumnal arts and craft activities for our younger visitors.
