My kids have thick, tangled hair and I always dreaded the screams and tears on hair wash days whilst combing their hair. I noticed that many of the so called “natural” products I used still contained an element of synthetics/impurities and were not even that effective. I was passionate about creating an entirely natural and eco-friendly hair solution to detangle, tame and style. Hence, Locks in Goodness was born.

SELF-CARE SECRETS

Living in a busy household, it is very hard to have any time to yourself (especially during the pandemic). I like to make sure that I have at least five minutes to myself everyday to do something for me.

Even though there are not enough hours in the day to achieve everything, I try to ensure that I have at least seven hours of sleep a day.

Another one of my self-care secrets is to clear away clutter! Every month I go through at least one wardrobe or cupboard. It’s amazing how much space you acquire and how much you can recycle or give to charity.

BUSINESS PLANS

I am launching a couple of new products at the end of the year which is very exciting. I would like to create further brand awareness and target retailers. I am aiming to continue to increase the number of products in the range.

THREE WAYS TO BE MORE SUSTAINABLE

RECYCLE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE It is especially important to recycle as too much waste is still ending up in land fill, the sea or being incinerated.

AVOID PLASTICS I also avoid using plastics where possible. For example, I do not use disposable water bottles or cling film.

CHECK INGREDIENTS When using natural products, check that they are in fact natural and ensure that all ingredients have been processed in green/biodegradable methods. You will be surprised how many naturally derived ingredients still contain traces of petrochemicals.
