INSPIRATION

I’ve been formulating and ‘cooking’ up different natural skincare products for as long as I can remember. The first thing I ever made was a ‘perfume’ out of tap water and bashed up rose petals I’d picked from our garden at the age of five! I’ve always had a huge love for plants and flowers and one of my earliest memories is of searching out wild flowers that I had read about in the Flower Fairies books by Cicely Mary Barker. Launching 360 Botanics in December 2018 felt like a natural next life step for me.

BEST BEAUTY ADVICE

My beautiful maternal grandmother, who’s skin looked amazing until the day she died at 86, always told me to wear foundation to protect my skin. She also told me to stay out of the sun… In hindsight, I wish my 20 year old self had listened to her wise words…

DESERT ISLAND PRODUCT

It would have to be our Wonder Balm as this is truly a one-stop all purpose healing balm. No doubt I would get bitten, get some kind of irritating rash or sunburn! A pot of this balm would be an invaluable first-aid kit. Some sunscreen would also be good – can I take 2 items?

WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOUR BRAND?

Lots of new products are being formulated, but always at the forefront are ways in which to reduce packaging, so I am currently looking into all types of refill options. I am also formulating shampoo and cleansing bars to cut down on excessive plastic in the bathroom and looking into formulating products specifically for children/teenagers. I would love to create a Vegan Sun Block, in honour of my Grandma of course!

TAKE ACTION AT HOME

• Save Water! Try and shower less and save the Bath for special Self-Care moments.

• Streamline & De-Clutter

Do you really need all those bottles? Try and use more multi-purpose products and items with recyclable packaging wherever you can. Think about muslin and cotton cloths that you can wash and re-use instead of cotton wool and disposable wipes.

• Eliminate plastics where you can

Change your plastic toothbrushes to bamboo ones or at least get a rechargeable electric, your teeth & gums will thank you for it! Most importantly – TURN THE TAP OFF!! You don’t need to run the water whilst you brush your teeth!
