My daughter, Claire, is the designer behind our brand and keeps a firm hold on me as I have lots of ideas, some wilder than others. We began Helpmeorganics in 2016 mainly to allow the recipes used in my therapy business to be easily used at home. They have been so popular that the product ranges have kept growing! We were very proud to be chosen as a SmallBiz100 in 2018, our passion for promoting organic aromatherapy, small businesses and protection of nature has not diminished, in fact it has got stronger.
MY MORNING ROUTINE
I love to meditate and start each morning sitting in my garden listening to the birdsong, I’m an early riser so there is hardly any background traffic noise. I always start the day with a couple of cups of hot water to cleanse my system, it is such a healthy start to the day. I have my morning shower, scrub and apply our massage oil to nourish my skin for the day ahead. Following my breakfast, which includes some fruit and porridge, I check my emails. I get the salon ready to see my therapy clients which is always lovely as the scents begin to diffuse around the shop, I love being in the salon before the doors open, the feeling is of calm which, hopefully, my clients enjoy. I make sure to drink lots of water during the clinic as wearing PPE can make you feel dehydrated, applying moisturiser regularly too helps. After a busy morning, it is lovely to go for a walk in the woods with my partner, then we are home for a light lunch, normally salad or soup, then I am off to my workshop to make products to boost the stock levels in the shop. My day ends normally with a face and hair mask, sitting at the computer, planning for days ahead, answering queries and planning my social media. Thank goodness there’s no cameras.
MY FUTURE PLANS
We hope to continue to add to our range or products, the one is being launched this autumn. We are hoping to put the finishing touches to a Pregnancy Gift Box filled with products to make pregnancy a wonderful time of pampering. And we have many plans to finally take part in events, we have missed talking to customers so much. We are working towards becoming Netzero by 2026 so our plans are always working towards that, it is so important.

- Helpmeorganics products are made with recipes nearly 30 years old, I have developed them during my therapy and still use them today.
- I am an aromatherapist by trade and still have the same passion for introducing people to use organic essential oils in their day to day life as I did 30 years ago.
- The last one is quite tricky! My daughter hand-painted the patterns we use on the labels, we still have the original paintings. I plan to frame them one day to keep them safe.
