They combined their skillsets, started Nereus London and never looked back. Diana was born in Venezuela but grew up in Florida. She studied Fashion Design and worked in the industry in both Fort Lauderdale and San Francisco. Besides having a passion for fashion, she also loves travelling, art, design, and teaching others. After meeting her partner James, she moved to London to study further and that is where they came up with the concept of their company, Nereus London. James was born in South Africa but moved to the UK to attend university. James is an avid golfer and sports fan in general, and loves travelling and experiencing new cultures. After working as a beauty brand manager for a multinational for many years, he wanted to do something more meaningful, leading to the creation of his and Diana’s company. He is also part of a social entrepreneur organisation based in Ghana that helps people get access to clean toilets.
MY MORNING ROUTINE
James and I have different routines as working and living together can be a little chaotic! Our morning routine can change depending on how busy our day can be. We have a small puppy, so James likes to get up early and feed her while having a cup of tea. We make sure to get our dog out for a walk, then I do some yoga and stretch in the morning to wake my body up. After that, we both like to take a shower with Nereus London Pink Pepper Body wash, as we find it revitalising and helps get our mind refreshed for the day ahead.
MY FUTURE PLANS
Overall, we’re looking to build on what we’ve achieved and grow the company by raising awareness and putting our products in as many people’s hands as we can. We’re happy with our products and the way people receive them, so for us, it’s about letting more people know that we exist! We’re also keen to inspire other brands to go out and minimise their use of plastic to help reduce the impact it has on the environment.
3 THINGS ABOUT NEREUS LONDON
- Firstly, we designed absolutely everything ourselves. From the formulations to the colour scheme to the packaging we use - we wanted to make sure that everything was done correctly every step of the way and that sustainable practices were followed. It was actually a lot of fun developing the fragrances and formulations for our products, but a lot of work too!
- Secondly, we’re totally plastic-free. There’s absolutely no plastic in the containers, caps or packaging, which is made from aluminium and recycled card respectively. Even our labels are completely biodegradable.
- Finally, we’re really proud of our relationship with Plastic Bank. With every bottle of shampoo, conditioner or body wash that we sell, they make sure that 1kg of ocean-bound plastic is recovered and properly processed. We really hate plastic pollution, so it’s nice to be involved with a company that can make a real impact on it and to give our customers the chance to be involved too.
