INSPIRATION

From my teenage years I’ve always bought face masks to improve my skin and to have a matt look, rather than oily. As a holistic therapist I wanted to expand my knowledge and took a course in natural skincare. I created two masks I was happy to launch with. I wanted to be a quirky ethical Scottish brand where everything is formulated and handmade locally. I make clay face masks; when you’re wearing a mask, you can’t speak. Wheesht or the phrase ‘haud yer wheesht’ is a term calling for silence. It resonates with our brand as we believe in detox; digital as well as skincare!

BEST BEAUTY ADVICE

Keep hydrated. Whether it is through water or eating fruit. You can really tell in your skin as well as your body if you are dehyrated. Plus if you feel thirsty you’re already dehydrated. So keep drinking!

DESERT ISLAND PRODUCT

On a desert island it needs to be coconut oil, a hugely versatile solid oil which melts on touch. Can be used on face, body and hair and can easily be replenished via the coconut tree.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOUR BRAND?

World face mask domination! We would love to be a go to brand for zero-waste stockists here in the UK and abroad.

TAKE ACTION AT HOME

• Start with replacing products and accessories only when they are finished, no need to throw half full things away. When the shower gel is empty replace with a greener brand or soap.

• Limit shower time to 3 minutes if you can.

• If you have towels that can’t be used any more, cut them up and make them cloths for cleaning. It is the little steps that make it easier and more cost effective for families.
