“Let’s be honest, you probably won’t be having sex tonight after the baby falls asleep. You are finding yourself too tired again, for the third night in a row. Women have a cocktail of three sex hormones: estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. Stress levels, imbalanced diet, not sticking to your personal boundaries and not living in alignment with your menstrual cycle can all affect our sex drive. I have three daily tips to help you get in a serious relationship with your body.

Know this: Menstrual pain is not normal. Your body is not punishing you for being a woman. One of the ways your body alerts you to hormone imbalance is through menstrual pain. When you get in balance, the bonus is you will naturally feel a boost of energy and sexual self-confidence!

1 Start tracking all four phases of your cycle rather than just your period - Get curious about what you need during each phase of your cycle.

2 Ditch the fad diets - Your body wants and needs healthy carbohydrates, fats and proteins with every single meal. By giving yourself permission to create your own diet you can begin to love the body you’re in. Through tracking each phase of your cycle you’ll start to be aware of what to eat within each phase for full health.

3 Implement a morning routine - Morning routines decrease stress levels. Decreased stress levels equal an increased sex drive. Sounds like a good motivator to me, am I right? Today I challenge you to be informed about what phase you are in and to do one thing to help you thrive in that phase. Come and tell me your wins on Instagram @mamaswellnesshaven
