Many of us find it hard enough to commit to a daily skin care regime, let alone time for a facial treatment every week. We rarely make time for ourselves. "A face mask twice a week, when do I find time to do that?” asks Emma Harvey

Face masks are one of the big skin care musts for 2018 and for good reason. If you did give a face mask treatment the time, maybe at least a couple of times a week for as little as 10 minutes, you would see the difference in your skin health.

Face Masks are known for their deep cleansing effects, which get rid of the build up of grime in the pores, that daily cleansers may not reach? They can be very refining and anti-ageing, refreshing your skin and boosting the collagen for ultimate skin cell renewal.

However, a couple of warnings before you make your choice on your future product. It is extremely important to avoid the harsh and synthetic masks, which could actually do your skin health more harm than good. They can dry out the skin and irritate it with their toxic properties.

Secondly, purchasing the correct mask for your skin type is just as important. Depending on your skin type, here are my favourite certified organic and natural face masks I would recommend to give your skin that weekly boost it needs!

For NORMAL-DEHYDRATED skin types that tend to rarely blemish but can occasionally feel dry, the Neal’s Yard Remedies Rose Formula Antioxidant Facial Mask infuses
the skin with essential omega-rich oils. A delightful purifying pink clay mask!

DRY skin types usually have barely visible pores and feel tight after cleansing. The Ila Spa Face Mask For Revitalising Skin, is described as a “facial in a pot!” A very mineral-rich and hydrating combination of organic ingredients provides the spa like treatment in your own home. Toning, anti-ageing and stimulating, one of my favourites!

OILY/COMBINATION skins have enlarged pores and a shiny t-zone. The Living Nature Deep Cleansing Mask formulation makes it an ideal weekly treatment mask for oily skins that may be prone to blemishes and acne. The Halloysite Clay helps to unclog pores, which balances your skin health with its certified natural ingredients.

For the more MATURE skin type, showing signs of ageing, Green People have produced a face mask for all skin types with the added bonus of pure vitamins that boost collagen and plump the complexion for a more youthful look. Detoxify your complexion and reduce fine lines and wrinkles with the Green People Vita Min Mask.

SENSITIVE skins I understand are more quick to react and can be itchy and flaky. The Organic Surge range is perfect for the sensitive skin type, as their products are centered around dry skin conditions and other sensitive skin types. Therefore, the Organic Surge Deep Cleansing Face Mask is non-toxic and extremely gentle with organic rosemary and lemon for a soothing detox.

For MEN, a unisex product courtesy of Ila Spa from their Renewed Recovery collection. Their Ila Face Mask for Renewed Recovery uses gentle white clay and revitalises
tired looking and unbalanced skin types.
