The National Gallery

Discover how one National Gallery painting can capture the imagination of children across the UK. Take One Picture is the National Gallery’s flagship programme for primary schools and this year showcases children’s responses to A Roman Triumph by Peter Paul Rubens.

Children were inspired by details of the painting such as dancing maidens, trumpeters, pipe players and elephants bearing fruit and incense burners. Explore a range of imaginative responses including architectural studies, printmaking, ceramics and shadow puppets.

To celebrate this free exhibition, the National Gallery is offering you the chance to win a range of children’s art prizes. They Include a National Gallery colouring box, a collection of three Usborne Art colouring and sticker books and a Trafalgar Square lion soft toy.
