While im donating pennies too, i would really like to make a doll, blanket or something.  Sadly the blog doll donations is not doing a japan drive.  Does any one know of one?  If not im thinking of looking into arranging one myself - would folks be interested in sewing, knitting or crocheting dolls?

I just got in touch with dh because he mentioned something he saw on facebook the other day about this and something I thought I’d ddefinitely do too. He told me where to find it (I’m an fb novice I’m afraid) so here’s the link. It’s for knitting but I would assume if you get in touch they’d happily accept crochet too. (ETA - just read it further down and crochet is good too!)

hope this helps x (and hope the link works)

If you do organise one Joxy then yes, count me in for some knitting -blanket or little dolls x

lovely idea!  reeeeally sorry but don’t think I’ll physically be able to make either, hands full with baby,  but could send someone some yarn if needed, as a contribution

I’d like to make a blanket, or doll.  Lovely idea.

Brilliant, thanks Dawn.

I’m going to contact Save the Children too, as I know they are working over there and trying to set up safe areas for children to play and gain some normality - as it looks like the blankets might not be distributed for a while owing to lack of infrastructure.

Either way I plan to do them some crochet squares too.  I’ll let everyone know whether its possible to set up a doll drive.

I’m having difficulty finding a charity that is willing to take dolls or blankets because it is cheaper for them to source these things at site… so as the ladies that Eden linked too have managed to find one, I think that’s the way to go grin
