I know this is not a cause everyone will feel able to get behind, but if you possibly can, please sign the pledge. If you were/are one of those teens, please submit a video. I was very nearly one of those statistics, so supporting LGBT teens is very close to my heart.

GP LETS number 17

What a fantastic campaign! I have many friends who were LGBT teens and this is always a cause that feels close to my heart.

Even simple things like when talking about Jacob’s future I always say “I can’t wait for Jacob to bring a girlfriend or boyfriend home for the 1st time” etc ... I just want him to know that either situation is entirely normal and that no matter what sexual preference he has in life, he will always just be ‘Our Jacob’.....

Pledge Taken!

It reminds me of something my gay friend Sean once said to me while we were uni students and having one of those late night conversations….. “Rach, if you ever have gay kids, just tell them that life at high school might be a bit pants, but when they get to Uni they will be treated like Gods!!! At uni EVERYONE wants a gay friend!!!”

xx

Peace, Love and Warmth xx

There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children.
One is roots; the other, wings.

looks like a great campaign. signed!

Thanks for the link Angiegw. It’s great to see people do care. We’re going to get their book and T-shirts; we learn a lot from personal accounts. There’s another great book on the topic that we highly recommend:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bi-Any-Other-Name-Bisexual/dp/1555831745/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1301081477&sr=1-1

We were involved with LGBT when we were students; it makes a big difference for many people. It’s great to have such communities around. The UK is pretty good for that, http://bicon.org.uk/ is another great place. And it looks like London Gay Pride gets bigger and bigger too. Even though, there’s still a lot of prejudice out there, things do seem to get better, and Harvey Milk would have been happy to see it. If you haven’t seen the film “Milk”, I recommend watching it. It really shows we came a long way.

BiCon has a Helping Hand Fund for people who can’t afford it, so maybe it’s worth looking into that. Here’s a link from last year’s:
