My stick blender and attachments has died :(  I think after several false starts it has finally given up the ghost, and is almost certainly beyond repair. It has a switch in the middle of the lead where the wiring went wrong so my dad stripped it out and put a switch in instead, and the speed controller has melted onto the fastest setting, but it was gamely carrying on regardless until today, when it just started intermittently cutting out.

I just wondered whether there was any way of disposing of it in as responsible way as possible? I don’t just want to landfill it if there is another option, but it really is beyond handing on to anyone or a charity shop in its complete form.

Our local tip has a special section for small electrical goods where they get stripped into their basic componants and recycled as appropriate. Is there something like this near you?

That sounds exactly what I’m looking for - I will investigate! smile

Thank you!
