I have visions of having to boil vinegar and sterilise jars but am wondering if the reality is more simple.
How long do they keep once you’ve pickled them?
And do you need to seal the jars if you want to keep them for any length of time?

Please give me the idiots guide from your own experiences

Mine keep a while:
Boil your eggs, peel them and then put them in whatever pickling spice you use and vinegar to cover them.
We ate last years eggs about a month ago, so prolly last around a year.
Yes, seal the jars and sterilise jars but actually, they’re so simple and a delicious treat for picnics and stuff. I love a pickled egg!

So you don’t have to boil the vinegar then?
And stupid question time, but how do you seal the jars if the vinegar isn’t hot? When I make jam, marmalade etc, it’s the solution cooling down that contracts the seal down (I think; I never was that good at science)... *confused*

Yes, sorry, you do need to boil the vinegar first with your spices.
I’ve always just used regular kilner jars and new seals and, well, it’s always worked.

However, I’ve just read that you should keep them in the fridge and not on a shelf, so that’s interesting reading. I kept mine on a shelf last time. I have my current lot on a shelf. Apparently shelving them could cause botulism!!! You learn something every day eh!
