like seemingly everyone else grin  we are decluttering our overstuffed house. we have lots, no, LOTS of videos, mainly music stuff dh had taped off the tv over the years, also bought tapes, music (gigs) and films etc.
he’s decided it’s time to let it go, but where? nobody would want to buy it i’m sure, he wants to put them in the wheelie bin big surprise  before he can change his mind!

i do remember ages ago reading about a chap who will recycle the components if you strip the tapes, but i can’t remember where i saw this, and i can’t imagine how long it would take, not to mention the postage!

any experience? or anyone want any free videos?!?  cheese
thanks

Freecycle/charity shop?

I’m just in the middle of writing a new post about a company I’ve found who recycle videos for free. You just need to cover postage. You can send up to 100 units to them: http://www.ems-europe.co.uk/

apparently this is the latest in eco fashion - shopping bags sell for£35 each in trendy shops!

Most charity shops won’t take them (except maybe kids tapes)

I think there are some health warnings against using the tape for crafts such as knitting- due to particulates released from the tape and breathing problems.
Might be worth checking out before you try that one!

If anyone has any kids videos, I’d be happy to take them off your hands!  We have a video player for our playroom as my two take care of nothing and videos are less destructible that dvds!  Struggling to find any now, most charity shops won’t take them anymore.
