We live in Ireland so the kids go to a catholic primary school. This year was the first communion year for Rebe’s class. We are not religious so we came up with our own alternative, an apple seed ceremony. I thought some of you might like the idea grin

That is so beautiful- thank you for sharing it with us all.
I’d like to do that for William when he’s older.
Such lovely words and ideas.
Well done you x

laangel, thank you for that. Perfect timing for us as my daughter should also be making her first holy communion & though baptised, we won’t be doing it. What a lovely idea:)

thank you everyone, I am delighted it was so special for Rebe and I am pleased too that we have found a little celebration that we can repeat with the boys too when they are the same age grin hugs Laura x

That was really lovely, it brought a tear to my eye. We didn’t ever manage to do the naming ceremonies that we planned but something like this would be a lovely celebration for my daughter to help her grow big and strong and feel special - I love it!
