My oldest son, who’s almost 16, was diagnosed with dyspraxia and sensory processing disorder when he was 7, then aspergers last year.
He’s always coped well, but this year has been really hard for him, and he’s having panic attacks quite frequently now. Most happen at school, but he has had some at home too. I’ve done some meditating with him and he takes flower essences and herbal remedies which do help. He’s on the waiting list for some counselling and CBT, to help him cope with the anxiety, but I just wondered if any of you have any experience of this, and would love to know what helped or worked for you.
Hi, My daughter who is now 12 suffered panic attacks a couple of years ago when she went through a period of high anxiety. We got pulsatilla homeopathic tablets. No idea if they really worked or whether they had the placebo affect but she felt a huge difference when she took them. I also made her a ball of playdough with lavender in it for her to fiddle with in class which she said often helped her calm down if she started to feel stressy. She also had a mediation cd that I got from a lovely mama on here that she went to sleep with and again she felt it helped her a lot. She isn’t aspergers but she is very highly sensitive with a lot of asd traits so we tend to get these periods of anxiety at times. xxx

Thanks so much for the reply. I haven’t tried him with any homeopathic remedies, we’ve always used flower essences, but i’ll look into that tomorrow as we sell them where I work. I’ll give your other suggestions a try too, thanks for sharing
I don’t know if it would help but I’ve recently had Bowen Therapy and found it excellent. Therapists treat all manner of things. Don’t know where you live but I used http://wellbeingwithbowen.co.uk/Bowen/Home.html
Could be worth a look

Thanks for that, I don’t know too much about Bowen Therapy, so will have a look into it. We’re up in Yorkshire, but i’m sure i’ll be able to find a practitioner nearby
