I want to buy a dehydrator but am undecided as to which one to buy. Obviously if money were no issue I would buy an excalibur, which seems to be the bees knees. But I am a bit reluctant to spend a couple of hundred pounds on one especially as it is my first one and am not sure how much I will use it(I hope a fair amount….but just dont know) Also space wise, they look a lot bigger than other cheaper ones. But then cheaper ones look really plasticy rolleyes  And I dont know how healthy it would be to have a plastic one??? as far as I can see there doesnt seem to be much in between. I would like to pay no more than about £60 or £80 but want to get one that is good and will last. Do any of you have a dehydrator? What would you recommend, xxx

Mine is no longer available, it came from a shop called Tchibo, which doesn’t trade in the UK any more.

BUT, mine is a cheap, plasticky thing which cost £25. I was very sceptical, thinking, I’d try it and if I liked it, I’d treat myself to an excalibur.

However, about 10 years on my cheap plasticky treasure is still going strong and a much-loved kitchen gadget!

I’ve not tried an expensive one, so I can’t compare, but mine does what it says on the tin - and the bunny loves her dried fruit treats too :D
