My son has Type 1 diabetes and, of course, he’s on a strict insulin regime (he has a pump) and has to take glucose tablets to bring him up after his blood sugars get low. Obviously, neither of these contribute greatly to his overall health, but are essential to keep him alive. We eat pretty healthily, but I’d really appreciate any tips for more natural ways to regulate his blood sugars (we try to stick to low GI foods when we can), and anything we can do to keep him more balanced.
