Hi! I’ve recently had my second child, and was wondering how child benefits (or benefits in general) affect the tax you pay? Do they still count as income, or are they something else? I’m only wondering because soon I’ll be back to my job working full time instead of the part time I was previously so will be earning over the personal allowance amount which I was under before. I’ve looked at sites like this salary tool but can’t find much on it. Could anyone lend some advice? Any replies are much appreciated smile

Hi ErinR
I’m pretty sure that its only an issue if you earn over 50k then you will need to repay some via tax? Check out https://www.gov.uk/child-benefit-tax-charge
