About

Folk, roots and acoustic festival Folk by the Oak returns to its stunning parkland setting in Hatfield, Hertfordshire on Sunday 21 July 2024, with a 13 strong line-up that is hitting all the high notes. Iconic band Levellers will headline the Main Stage with a high energy set packed with their most loved tracks, plus superb indie-folk band The Staves, kora master Seckou Keita with his new collaboration ‘Homeland Band’ and the exceptional Boston based Darlingside, plus more Main Stage acts. On the Acorn Stage, Essex legend and festival favourite Beans on Toast will headline a superb line-up of bands including the funky all female Scottish band Heisk.

Thanks to the festival’s unique schedule and layout of two stages in one tree-lined arena families can catch every single set in one uplifting summer day of music at Folk by the Oak. The festival also has a fun packed family area in sight and sound of the Main Stage, an inspiring array of arts and crafts plus real ale bar and tempting street food.

Many of the family and craft activities are free of charge and, though rarely permitted in the festival world, at Folk by the Oak you are welcome to bring your own picnics and drinks into the arena, making the event excellent value for money for music lovers and families alike! Carparking is also free of charge, but the organisers encourage everyone to consider car-sharing or coming by train. The festival entrance is just a 10-minute walk from Hatfield Station which is served by regular trains from King’s Cross London.
