INSPIRATION

I spent 10 years in The City before creating Bloom and Blossom with my sister-in-law, Julia. I head up our environmental programme in the business and have a real passion for product innovation and sustainability.

BEST BEAUTY ADVICE

Sleep.Getting enough sleep is the single most important element of my beauty regime and general wellbeing. The benefits of sleep are well documented; from clearer skin to increased physical and academic performance, to improved cardiovascular and mental health. For me, I am simply a nicer person after 6-8 hours sleep (just ask my husband…)

DESERT ISLAND PRODUCT

Bloom and Blossom Wonder Balm, it’s the ultimate multi-purpose mum hack product. I use it for any area of sore, unhappy skin as a body balm, lip balm, hand cream, nappy balm and wind chap relief – it even helps soothe mosquito bites so pretty handy for a desert island!

WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOUR BRAND?

2019 is a big year for Bloom and Blossom. We are thrilled to be working with The Very Hungry Caterpillar on a range of new baby products, focusing on sleep routines and sensitive skin.

TAKE ACTION AT HOME

Bathroom recyclables bin: put one next to your normal bathroom bin. The easier you make recycling, the more you will do it!

Power to the children:educate your kids and help them to be green ambassadors at home. My daughter is “Head of Sustainability” at home and loves to keep me on my toes from everything from single use plastic to separating recycling properly.

Switch to Bamboo:did you know that every plastic tooth brush that has ever been manufactured is still in existence, many of which have ended up in our oceans? According to Friends of the Earth, a plastic toothbrush takes hundreds of years to fully break down, whereas bamboo toothbrush handles can take around six months to compost. It’s a no brainer.
