About

At Annan School near Uckfield East Sussex, we offer unique and inspiring educational experiences set against the backdrop of a beautiful woodland setting. We are a Froebelian Primary School and Kindergarten for children aged 2-11. Our approach is child-centric, with teachers focussing on the ‘whole child’ in small class sizes with high staff ratios. Our Froebelian ethos places children at the heart of learning, cultivating confident, thoughtful learners who are happy, curious, and develop empathy and responsibility towards each other and the world around them. Our hands-on, creative and exciting curriculum encourages exploration, challenges, and risk-taking. Our topic-based curriculum encourages children to explore in a connected and meaningful way which is active. The natural world shapes our school days, every child has a forest school session each week with our full time Forest School teacher. We are proud of our weekly forest school sessions for all children, fostering a close relationship with nature that positively impacts children’s well-being and provides them with an excellent knowledge and understanding of the world around them. Children address teachers by their first names, and don’t wear a uniform.

Here are some words from our parents:
