I think you can take the girl out of England, but not England out of the girl. Lily & Rabbit (lilyandrabbit.co.uk) was a brand name born upon our return here. It felt English to us and reflected where we live now. It was also named after a family English rose (my great aunt Lilian).

Indulging yourself in simple things, regardless of circumstances, or the amount of money you have is important at any age. For me, that is a luxuriously warm bath, with candles, soft music, and a good book. I have always had such “spa me time” - when I was a teenager, once I was married, a young mother, when recovering from breast cancer and now. Giving your skin a good clean is also a day to day must – I have always used soap since I was a teenager with terrible acne! A kind, gentle soap is a simple necessity for the face and body, and I never travel without my own bar of soap.

Our brand has concentrated on goat’s milk soap bars because it was a great solution for sensitive skin. But Lily & Rabbit is expanding its offering to a range of customers, particularly those who enjoy a vegan lifestyle. Everyone deserves excellent handmade soap.
WAYS TO BE MORE SUSTAINABLE
Checking what is in a product that you are buying, particularly for body care, and verifying how and where it is made. As a family we have become so conscious of these three things, and we are certainly not alone in this. Easy to say, and said often, but shopping for quality products nearer to home is especially important. Obviously, this is not always possible, but every little sustainable purchase helps.
