INSPIRATION

Lucky Cloud Skincare was born out of my own issues with sensitive and dry skin. I’d suffered from skin conditions like dermatitis from a young age and was quite reliant on steroid ointments. I’ve always had an interest in skincare and holistic skin health, but didn’t know that much about it. Until that is, I started researching ingredients and developing products Now I’m inspired by nature and the amazing power of plants!

BEST BEAUTY ADVICE

Beauty really does come from within – how we treat our bodies internally and mentally will shine through. So get as much sleep & rest as you can and drink plenty of water.

DESERT ISLAND PRODUCT

A multi-purpose product is going to be very high up on my list! My Soothing Super Balm would be the one. It can be used as a lip balm, hand treatment, general moisturiser, to tame flyaways, heal scratches and burns and is great as an after sun treatment too.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOUR BRAND?

I’m always looking to grow the range of products I have available, so there’s always a lot of experimentation going on in my workshop! I’m interested in developing some body scrubs that both exfoliate and moisturise your skin and to do some research into face masks. If I were to list all the products I’d like to formulate, we’d be here all day.I’m constantly striving to better our environmental & ethical credentials, such as finally getting cruelty free certification from the Leaping Bunny program.

TAKE ACTION AT HOME

• One of the easiest things you can do right away is swap to a bamboo toothbrush. There are so many available now that can be bought in shops or online. The bristles need to be thrown away, but the handle can be composted.

• Swap out your liquid body wash for bar soaps. Bar soaps have long been associated with drying your skin out (this is because they have a PH of about 9-10 (which is quite high, when you consider our skins natural PH is between 4.5-6). But there are so many lovely soaps being made by indie beauty brands that are enriched with beautiful oils & butters, which help to nourish your skin.

• Get rid of your normal toilet paper and try something like Who Gives A Crap. Toilet paper that’s delivered to your door and made with recycled paper, no ink or dies, 50% of profits donated to charity and super fun packaging! https://uk.whogivesacrap.org
