I am a scientist by training so I love a good experiment. I am also acutely aware of our impact single use plastic has on our planet. After exploring the plastic free options on the market I found there was no colourful, offbeat alternative in the plastic free market. That’s when Pretty Savage was born. I am to make things fun while lowering our impact.

MY MORNING ROUTINE
I’ll be the first to admit, I tend linger in bed a bit in the mornings. Not least because I enjoy the cosiness (especially with a little one that still enjoys some midnight conversations about missing socks) but also to set me up for the day knowing I’ve had one calm moment to myself. I then get dressed and brush my teeth and wash my face with Schweet Savage and finish it off with a face oil I’ve been playing around with - this might just be one of the surprises I have up my sleeve. Then it’s downstairs to wake the little Savages to turn on some music and have a glass of water. Music is something we always have on in our house. I call it my ‘everything medicine’ because it can fix almost anything. From there, it’s a bit of a rush to get everyone out the door for the school run. When I get back that I have my first cup of coffee and my breakfast which is almost always some homemade yoghurt, granola and frozen fruit. I catch up on emails and then get on with packing orders and making to keep stock levels on an even footing.

MY FUTURE PLANS
The next year is going to be an exciting one here at PSHQ. I’m working on a lovely body cream collaboration with a dear friend of mine. I’m also in the throes of working on a new quirky soap range which should be out before Christmas. Up until now, the Savage Soaks were only available as a four pack. I will now be offering them as individual soaks. I’ll also be launching a wholesale section on my site so it’s easier for trade partners to sign up and shop at their convenience. I have a few other surprises up my sleeves which will be revealed when the time is right.

3 THINGS ABOUT PRETTY SAVAGE

  1. My core range of Savage Soaks are named after songs. If you substitute Savage with the word ‘bomb’, you’ll get some pretty rad songs to add to your playlist.
  2. I have ‘Plastic Free Champion’ status from Surfer’s Against Sewerage for all the plastic free practices I have implemented.
  3. If you look close enough, there is a skull hidden in my butterfly logo.
