I created Pussy Pads in 2018 combining my love of art, sewing, environmentalism and female empowerment.
MY MORNING ROUTINE
My morning routine involves waking with my body clock. I like to spend time waking up as waking to an alarm sets off the nervous system into fight or flight. My fiancée usually brings me decaf coffee in bed but in the summer we both sit outside and stare across the fields and chat about the day to come. If I shower in the morning I love to use Faith in Nature products as they do not dry out my hair or skin. After showering I may put on some Weleda Skin Food, and Kiehl’s Hand Cream. Then I’m off to the ‘sewdio’ to whip up some Pussy Pads!
MY FUTURE PLANS
Next year I plan to expand the Pussy Pads range with new fabric choices, more zero waste items on the website and moving the home ‘sewdio’ into bright new workshop! With Pussy Pads I am always striving to find more ways to create less waste and empower menstruators to make the best choices for themselves.
3 THINGS ABOUT PUSSY PADS
- I also make reusable make up wipes. I make these by using the scraps from cutting out pads, so there is much less waste.
- Pussy was what I called my absolute favourite cuddly toy. Oh the innocence!
- I love to encourage every menstruator to talk about their period. I am a feminist, proud and I still can’t believe after centuries we are still ‘pussy’ footing around this natural subject!
