I have always been a hairdresser since starting as a Saturday girl in my teens, swiftly following up with beauty, reflexology and aromatherapy massage and I love making people feel good.

Clients were asking what products could they use on their teens and themselves for acne and spots as products they were using were not effective. Having suffered myself and ready for a new challenge, I did some research on available products and quickly realised there was a gap in the market for a natural, kind, highly effective, easy to use product that teens and adults could use. I created skin:genius (skin-genius.co.uk) in response.

SELF-CARE SECRETS

I found yoga about 5 years ago and love it, it really is good for your mind, body and soul. A good nights sleep, 8-9 hours is ideal for me, although I often get less as I love working too!! I love, love, love being with my friends and family, to have a house full of people to cook for and laugh with is the best, it makes me feel so good.

BUSINESS PLANS

We are growing and so excited about the coming year! We will be launching a skincare range for those with eczema, psoriasis and dry skin in the coming months and more exciting news later in the year, although I can’t spill the beans yet! Watch this space..!

THREE WAYS TO BE MORE SUSTAINABLE

Gosh, there’s so many things we can do to help this amazing planet we live in. This is my top three, easy everyday choices that fit into our lifestyle easily and help make a difference.

We love to grow some of our own veg and buy loose fruit and veg using reusable bags, visiting our local butchers and fishmongers.

Buy less - ask yourself if you really need something new. Can you upcycle, swop or give to someone else or buy quality so that it lasts longer.

Enjoy a walk or use a bike instead of the car whenever you can, gaining some you time!
