Sian Thomas, founder of This Playful Home is originally from the UK, but now lives with her husband and three children (aged 15, 8 and six) in Vienna, Austria
This Playful Home started as a way for me to connect with like-minded parents. I started off by sharing simple play ideas that parents could easily recreate at home using everyday materials.
After the birth of my third child, I had a few health issues which meant that I struggled to keep up with the demands of motherhood and I started to look at simplifying my days.
The absence of a traditional 'village', and the nearest family member living 10,000 miles away, meant that I needed to put systems in place that would help me be a present, connected mother without draining myself in the process.
