Unfortunately the hard work to a more ethical family life had to start with me! I’ve had to make uncomfortable changes.
When life as a parent of a child with additional needs is a whirlwind of therapies, appointments and groups, breastfeeding provides reconnection.
I work with women to remind them of their innate power and wisdom. I remind them that all they need to birth their baby is already within them. They just need to surrender and listen.
Inspired by the Continuum Concept I've found a parenting style that sits well in my heart and I've adopted 3 key principles to raising my children.
I didn’t see my baby for hours after we reached hospital as he was being stabilised; and couldn’t hold him for a week. But I found many ways to build a bond with him.
