New Issue

Our spring issue of The Green Parent magazine is out next week! There’s so much packed into this edition. We explore how parents can help their children develop a healthy relationship with food; understand the dynamics of multiples; and discover forest bathing and forest gardening with children. We take a peek inside an eco house in the woods, dive deep into pesticides in food and how to avoid them, and look at ways to reduce travel anxiety with children.

You’ll also find 15 things for families to do in the Lake District, bluebell woodland walks, tasty spring recipe ideas, seeds by post, herbal remedies for children with UTIs, and a wonderful personal story of maternal love.

With World Book Day coming up, we feature articles on how reading raises tomorrow’s changemakers, plus interviews with Corinne Bailey Rae and Cariad Lloyd about their new titles, alongside heaps of reader reviews.

All this, plus competitions, real-life stories, and so much more. Pre-order your copy below.

Whuppity Doo!

Welcome the spring Lanark-style with a game of Whuppity Scoorie. Every year on the 1st of March a large group of children gather at the foot of the town’s steeple. Each has a ball of paper on the end of a piece of string, and they run three times clockwise around the church swinging the balls above their heads. Why not create your own tradition and try it at home? Scrunch up a paper ball and thread a piece of string around it and go for a run around the block! Find out more here
