Anna and Stoph live with their daughter Molly, 4 in a self-built tiny house in Aotearoa, New Zealand

"We live on the top of the south island, on a ridge top surrounded by valleys and mountains with a view of the bay in the distance. We built our home in 2016 and lived in it down in Christchurch. Stoph landed a job up here and we snagged our wee section of land in 2018 and moved the house up.

Our home is 2.4m by 7.6m. We have two lofts, a small room, a bathroom, kitchen, and lounge. We built a large deck to give us some extra living space and a place to enjoy the views. We built shelves into framing for our spices, built closets under the stairs and Stoph made a table with underseat storage that holds my sewing things. I think we have a very efficient layout. We've been in quite a few tiny houses and, for the dimensions we went with, I don't think we could have designed a more perfect layout for us.
