Hello,

A big warm welcome to this week’s newsletter.

I'm sending this from the Isle of Wight, where we're having a weekend break.

I can't believe we’re nearly halfway through September already – that’s whizzed by, right?!

Anyway, here's what I’ve been up to this week:

Taking a Mini-Break

We’ve just arrived on the Isle of Wight to celebrate my older daughter's and my brother-in-law’s birthdays. My daughter and I reckon we last went there 11 years ago. I’m hopeful that it hasn’t changed at all! We’re going to head to Osborne House (Queen Victoria’s country home) with paints and sketchbooks and while away an afternoon, painting. I love the little private beach and view over the Solent there. My partner is a castle fiend and so we’ll most likely head over to Carisbrooke Castle too. I remember there being donkeys and a lovely Edwardian garden to explore last time we visited. I want to explore Ventnor Botanic Garden again over the weekend – it’s apparently the hottest garden in the UK! There’s a great walk along the coastal path to get there. And Black Gang Chine, of course, for nostalgia reasons!
