Oxytocin, the accelerator of labour, is the love hormone. Released in sex and in labour, it flows when we feel secure, safe, unobserved, and loved.
I work with women to remind them of their innate power and wisdom. I remind them that all they need to birth their baby is already within them. They just need to surrender and listen.
Birth is a different experience for every mother. We are in birth as we are in life, so use this to determine what you need when you go into labour.
Birthing with love and pleasure is possible for every person in every setting. Birth lays the foundation for how women feel about themselves and profoundly impacts their postpartum sexuality and relationships.
Why would I want to give birth in a strange institution filled with bustling people reading monitors and twiddling knobs, if I could instead give birth in the comfort, safety and security of my own familiar home?
