Shhhhh, the puss is sleeping. Manchester Museum's The Cat Who Slept for 1000 Years is a 10m, inflatable model of a moggy. Huggable. Tickleable. Hangoutable with. Watch as it projects its dreams. Choose to relax on a bean bag near the cat, or to give it a stroke. Bookable tickets are free and the Museum is hosting a series of puss-themed events including cat costume-making and shadow-play workshops.

Harvest Home

The pagan festival of Lammas, or Lughnasadh is almost upon us. It’s a time to celebrate the last hurrah of summer, the harvest and abundance, and a final wave to the sun before it starts to dip into winter.

Traditionally, corn dollies were made from the last few stalks of corn in the fields and kept over the winter, ready to be thrown into the first furrow ploughed in the following spring.
