Kaleidoscope Festival 2026: Saturday 11 July 2026, Alexandra Palace Park, London N22 7AY

Back for its sixth year at Alexandra Palace Park, this one-day boutique festival has built a reputation as one of the capital's most family-friendly days out, with a dedicated Family Fun area that works as a mini festival in its own right. Children can wander between the brilliantly eccentric Silly Science Show, clamber into Circus Sensible's interactive mini Big Top, watch the African Acrobatics Circus, and chase enormous bubbles courtesy of The World's Tallest Bubbleologist. There's Family Disco Yoga for wriggly bodies, traditional Punch and Judy shows, plus art, theatre and hands-on experiences designed for curious minds of all ages. Pop-up performances and roaming performers appear throughout the park all day, so there's always something to stumble upon.

And because this is a proper festival rather than a kids' event with music tacked on, parents get a genuinely brilliant line-up too. Chart-topping collective Rudimental headline, joined by Groove Armada with a special DJ set, UK garage pioneer MJ Cole, Black Grape, drum'n'bass legend Roni Size, garage originator Wookie, DJ Paulette, The Amy Winehouse Band and the Some Voices Choir. Add Bez's Acid House Experience, Hip Hop Karaoke and comedy from Russell Kane, Olga Koch, Emmanuel Sonubi and Bella Hull, and there's plenty to keep the grown-ups grinning between bubble chases.

Three stages are dotted across the parkland of the historic “People's Palace”, with the South Slope's natural amphitheatre framed by Alexandra Palace itself

The setting does a lot of the magic. Three stages are dotted across the parkland of the historic “People's Palace”, with the South Slope's natural amphitheatre framed by Alexandra Palace itself and sweeping views across London. For families who love a bit of adventure, the atmospheric Victorian Basements beneath the Palace open for an afternoon of offbeat storytelling and a Q&A with rave culture author Kirk Field, a rare chance to explore a hidden side of Ally Pally not usually open to the public. As night falls, the cavernous underground spaces transform into an immersive playground for those staying on after bedtime.

Festival Director Simon Fell says: “Kaleidoscope Festival has been running since 2018 and has become a real staple of London's summer. This year's line-up is a celebration of the golden age of garage, house and drum'n'bass, the sound of London, alongside comedy, culture and family experiences. It's a festival like no other; a place for the curious, for music lovers, for families, where you can explore our park, take in panoramic views of the capital, and even discover parts of Alexandra Palace you wouldn't normally see.”

The festival welcomes all ages, with under 16s to be accompanied by an adult over 21, making it an easy choice for a whole-family day out.
